Romeo Langford is filling it up. Natives want to see the "next" Oscar,Bird,Bonham, Bailey.....

Seymour is the site of the sectional final and will host Regional and Semi State as well. Tickets were sold out a week beforehand but seating is not assigned. Kirk Manns is the site director (Indiana All Star,Mi State star). Much respect to him for managing the hosting 3 weeks in a row. Gallery is pretty insane. Fire Marshall has to be nervous.

People are already arguing about where he lands on this list. I have seen him a couple of times in his career. No opinion yet. Not sure I think he is top 5 High Schoolers

Oscar

Though not quite the same, when Jay Burson was at John Glenn, thousands came out to see "The Show." Games had to be moved to larger gyms to accommodate the crowds. High school sports at their best!

There were over 11,000 in the Convo to watch Dante Jackson and Greenfield v. Chillicothe in 2007.

The Convocation Center is the busiest site in the State of Ohio since the Fairgrounds were shuttered as a tournament site.

He's going to end up at Vandy just like Darious Garland and Simi Shittu.
That will push VU's recruiting class from #7 to #2 in the nation just behind
Duke. VU also has South Carolina MVP Aaron Nesmith, a high 4* wing signed too.

He has played his recruitment very close to the vest narrowing down to 3. I hear a lot of folks in this area saying they know where he is headed (" my mother's aunt's boyfriend's sister's fiance says....) but I am not in that house and even family friends and AAU/summer ball guys don't have access to this recruit. He is quiet humble and a team player. I'm not smart enough to try and venture a guess.

Looking in at 3 pm on the circus surrounding Romeo Langford.
Has created a brouhaha over here as the town of New Albany is bitching because 9K tickets sold out. Unlike most schools that give the players families opportunity to purchase 4 or 6 and all others limited to 2...NA decided to let a free for all go. People bought 20 or 50 and are selling the 8 dollar/ 2 game tix for up to 1500 bucks each. Quite a bit of hostility here

IHSAA streaming the entire state from different sites.

http://ihsaatv.org /

Now that we have class basketball there are multiple sites around the state to cover. A Small school and big school play at a semi state site that is geographically favorable based on distances. HS' s vie to host the tourney.

Moving to a larger college arena was debated but folks want it to remain on a regulation HS floor rather than put it on the larger college floor.....well except for New Albany folk who think it should move to Lucas Oil so they can bring the whole universe for a "once in a lifetime player". Delusions of granduer. BTW Warren Central is undefeated playing the best of the best in INDY. SHould be a great game despite the circus surrounding it.

Ohhhhh Myyyyyy

That is as good a HS basketball game as I have seen in a while. If you have time to watch it unfold and are a student of the game I highly recommend this instant classic. Will go up there with many of the all time great games in State History including those like Shawn kemp vs Muncie Central, Glenn Robinson, George McGinnis and the Washington Continentals, Steve Alford vs James Blackmon shootout, Pavey and Rayl.....this one was a surprise ending and certainly was entertaining.

Watching First year coach and longtime Bloomington South assistant lead his Warren Central team vs the much Ballyhooed and lusted after IU, Vandy, Kansas recruit Romeo Langford vs veteran New Albany coach Jim Shannon's team in a highly anticipated battle. The joy of watching it unfold on IHSAA's new TV channel is pretty good drama.
