"You're not recruiting for teams, you're trying to recruit for programs. It doesnt always work out that way, but the more you recruit for your program, the better youre going to be. Think about it: When you recruit a player, you're not just recruiting that player, but you're also recruiting the family and anyone else who is involved. And you have to really evaluate that family and their desires. You can't look at it and say they'll be patient with the process. That is not possible. To me, you need to have that conversation beforehand, because once a player signs, they must understand the typical ups and downs of a basketball career."

I wonder if he has always thought that or if it has become finely tuned after the last season. In a nutshell....the junior class last year (who are fully NOT consistent with this view up to and including moms and dads) cost him his job.

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

The game loves and rewards those who love and reward the game

I'll try to find out when he made that statement. In any event, it's wise
even if he hasn't always lived up to it.
