Thank you for your advice. We can't go through life ganging up on people because they don't agree with us. We are all fans. All of this back and forth is not neccessary. I don't know you personally and you don't know me, so we are in no position to say who needs a break or a self examination. I understand that my opinion differs from a lot of people here. I want to be united with the group, but when the group says things like college athletes don't want to go pro just to counter me and I went to school with people who worked their tail off to go pro. I have a uncle who coaches in Jordan, he gets players that just can't hang them up. I am friends with high school and college coaches. I helped our former coach Larry Hunter try to get Theo Dixon and Jonathan Burge here. It is easy for me to find sources to combat some of these statements because I have experience. People make statements to try to make me look stupid and then claim to be authorities. They do all of this because I say our expectations are low or we can get better. I am not saying anything irrational. What am I supposed to do. Am I supposed to accept a lie. I guess I could ignore it. I have a question. Why can't we just be real? People disagree all the time, why can't we make our points and than disagree peacably. The whole argument between me and Billy the Cat started on a football thread, where I said that Basham would be more marketable if he could play OLB, two posters said it was impossible including Billy the Cat, another poster jumped in on my side and named about 20 DE's who had successfully made the transition and then Billy the Cat pm'd me and told me the story about the agent. A week later, I am watching the combine and Basham looks great performing linebacker drills and I said to myself he did all this to prove a point (people's pride will not allow them to be wrong). So I brought it up and he made some personal insults, some nasty ones at that, I asked for peace twice (turning the other cheek) and he followed every new post with an insult. I then said to myself, I won't retaliate in the same manner with nasty insults instead I will expose him everytime he calls me a name. See the names he calls me are not true, but me exposing his lies is the truth. By this, I am taking the higher road. I can handle it, he will stop with the names because he knows where he stands, but don't join in, I am not against you, I am not against Billy the Cat either. I am a former Ohio State fan that came to Ohio as a student in 96 and met some of the players and I became an Ohio Fan.

Are we talking about the same p.m. or you read the fashion would probably have a higher level says playing with his hand down? Funny how you want to manipulate and only tell one side of the story. You also want to casually dismiss that it's one thing to perform well on drills and another in live-action

Lol, I asked for peace, but you just keep going. Either you agent friend is not as good of a friend that you thought he was or you are in dreamland. Using deductive logic, I say the latter because agents are in the business of selling they can't afford to hang mediocre people. See they have to market their players. You would be a drag on anybody in the sales business. Bad company corrupts good morals. I also choose the latter also because of that blatant Rosewood type lie that you told on me. I have worked in human resources and I have never encountered a man lying and saying that another man threatened him. You're special, but I am willing to put all of it behind us. As far as Jerry Maguire, you can say it until you are blue in the face, I can't believe it. I am sorry, please forgive me.

I mean, he's got great wingspan, but he's not at least 6'10" so I doubt he qualifies. ;)

I really shouldn't, but your responses keep leading to questions. I wonder how many of those friends who are coaches know who you are on this forum?? Do you imagine they'd find some of your commentary as something they'd want around their players? Why can't you grasp what "peace" and "turning the other cheek" look like in this forum? I'd say that it means taking your own advice from above, and being quiet on a thread. Am I wrong?

And why are we still talking about Football and Tarrel Basham in the basketball forum? And what does Ohio State have to do with anything in this thread?

Most coaches and player would agree that there is room for improvement, most of the coaches and players think the same way. Moast coaches and players don't coddle one another. As far as tarell Basham, Basham is a great ambassador for our program and he showed that he could adapt to new challenges and add to his game. Some doubted that he would be able to make the transition to a new position the subject was also relevant to ones credibility and also because I wanted to. Tarell Basham didn't et lo expectations, he elevated the fan base with his performance. Ohio State was mentioned more than once in this thread along with other schools (remember the thread talking about a decline in our program and nonconference scheduling). I would say to you that you may want to take your own advice and walk away. When I referred to turning the other cheek it was in reference to not responding negatively to agitators. Maybe you might want to take a break if you are getting tunnel vision and losing the ability to comprehend a message. I can't make that decision for you, nor will I try. Why are we talking about UC?

[QUOTE=Alan Swank] So let me get this right. Billy in a PM said he has a friend who works with a firm that represents Basham. allen says he doesn't. Unfortunately allen is wrong in this case and if we were in a court of law I could put my hand on a Bible and offer both verbal and visual proof. [/QUOTE

Funny he said that his friend quit, so if you tesified and said his best friend was an agent that said Basham could not play linebacker, it might be considered perjury, especially whe Basham played OLB at the senior bowl and successfully participate in linebacker drills at the combine and I believe he did some drills at his pro day. Verbal proof, would that be you taping them saying they are friends, nevermind.

I said his friend worked for a firm that represents Basham. That is true. As to whether he still works for that firm, I do not know. That's all I said so I stand by my hand on the Bible statement.

Yet another perfect example of your nonsensical drivel that has nothing to do with the thread. So now you insert crap into my post?

ABOVE - you added "I am not going to talk about lunchables with TOS, I am going to see if he will recruit Aunt Bee and Shaggy."

WTF does that have to do with what is being discussed here? NOTHING. Grow up!
