. . . does not come from his professional career as an Indiana Pacer or 25-year career with CBS basketball. It doesn't come from his high school playing career, which includes a 55-point game in the the state championship game. It doesn't include anything from his days at o$u or going up against President Obama in a game of HORSE (or in their case, POTUS).

Instead, according to an article in today's Dispatch, Clark's shining moment came five years ago rooting for his son Nick and the Ohio Bobcats in their run to the Sweet 16.

There is a great video of him talking about it on Arkley's twitter. Hard to believe this program has gone 5 years now without playing in the Big Dance. Nobody would have thought that was possible after 2012. #JC #6-48

Here's the quote and a link to the article:

Kellogg pointed out that his five years calling the title game — "I got to see a couple of really good championship games (and) a couple of stinkers, too" — equals the length of his injury-shortened NBA career. He's played H.O.R.S.E. with president Barack Obama (although they played P.O.T.U.S., which Obama won) but has no hesitation when asked about the high points of his career.

There's one, and it came five years ago when his son Nick helped Ohio University reach the Sweet 16 before falling to North Carolina in overtime.

"There's nothing that compares to watching Nick and his team," he said. "Everything else falls under the umbrella of that one at the top. To see Nick contribute to a team that made a surprising run, to have that memory, to see his face on the One Shining Moment video ... Shoot, I get emotional talking about it."

Yeah, what mid-major fan could ever dream that they'd lose multiple coaches after a run of success! Inconceivable! Groce's convincing wins in two MAC Tournaments prove what a truly powerful team we had.

And this program, which has so dominated the MAC with its one shared regular season championship in the last 23 years, is clearly one that we can expect to be in the Dance every season. Hell, this program belongs in the ACC. I'm tired of winning the MAC so often. It's just too easy.

Nice reading that article. Talking about all tose guys who are overseas currently....I remember sitting with JG in the office talking about recruiting and who/what level we were looking at... he said "Tom, if we are not getting guys who can play at the next level, NBA or Overseas, we are not getting the guys who are going to take this to where we want" I have always reflected back on how he looked at the program and how he thinks. Reading the article brought me back to that conversation. Thanks
