NIU already has a 7 page thread on this game. Most of the talk isn't about the actual game but still good to see an engaged fanbase.

What do we do without Campbell?

Just sub in Carter for him and move on and run the system?

I'd say it depends on the opponent. If Tony is out long term, it could be time to go to a little more Laster/Culver and go 3 guards more often. What I don't know is if our team is really built to run 3 guards consistently.

Also, can Saul get 8-10 minutes a game out of Ellis Dozier? That would be a big help if he could.

Given the news we just got about Tony, Jason and Doug are gonna have to step up in a big way in the paint and I gotta think Saul gets someone else in the rotation. Mix it up with a 4-guard lineup maybe? I wouldn't mind seeing Mike and Rodney get more minutes to speed up the tempo a little bit with ball pressure and run-outs. It's a shame Khari's back is still an issue. And I really want to see what Ellis has to offer.

If the coaches believed Ellis could help, don't you think we would have seen some minutes out of him by now...even before Campbell injury? Not sure why so many are wanting to see him play. Obviously, he hasn't panned out.

So many may just want to see him play because of the need for a healthy body in the post given the situation the injury has put the team in.

Does anyone else get the feeling without Tony now we are just going to have to out-shoot people from distance? I mean, inside presence is now limited to Taylor/Carter duo, which I just don't see as being a consistent scoring threat. We have the shooters on the outside to rain threes, even more so than we have been. Do any of you folks expect a big bump in 3 point FG attempts now that we lost Tony?

Maybe? Maybe we'll see less because Tony was becoming one of the primary shooters from outside.

I'm looking for Jaaron to take more of an assertive role in the offense and try to get into the paint with more ferocity. Maybe without Tony in there it opens up the lane a bit, especially if Saul has a lineup of Jaaron, Jordy, Gavin, Carter/Taylor and KK. Could go really small and put Laster in there instead of Carter/Taylor and just shoot, shoot, shoot.

The first two games without Campbell actually has resulted in less 3-point shooting. Ohio has averaged 24.4 3-point attempts per game. Only 16 and 20 the last two games.

It's definitely going to be more workload on Jaaron getting downhill and finding guys. I'm not sure why, but it has felt like Jaaron has had stretches this season where he gets passive and doesn't attack as hard. In the EMU game it was pretty non-existent, but the EMU zone had a lot to do with that. We are a much more dangerous team when he's collapsing the defense and opening up shooters.

Only saw part of the EMU game so I couldn't tell, but Akron was really guarding the perimeter since they didn't have to worry about inside.

Looking at Ken Pomeroy:

- NIU has one of the worst offenses in the country. They rank 308th in efficiency averaging just 95.7 points/100 possessions on an adjusted basis. Not a good shooting team. They hit 26.8% (350th) on threes and 45.2% (297th) on twos.

- They are good defensively giving up 97.0 points/100 possessions (59th nationally). By comparison, Ohio is 39th in defense giving up 95.0 points/100.

Sweet highlights. Thanks. We hit some big shots after losing the lead at the 6 minute mark.

Has Block ever been called for a foul that, in his mind, was a good call?
Reminds me of Kevin McHale.

It was great to see JS take charge down the stretch. I feel like he did that a lot more last year. Hope he starts doing that again.

He routinely puts his hand up or points to himself to identify himself as the culprit.

Block is that guy that every team needs. He isn't worried if he finishes with zero points, as long as the team wins. And I love that since Tone went out he's posting up more. He has some good moves inside and is really presenting himself nicely as a stretch 4 at times. I absolutely hate to see Tone out but man is it setting some of these other guys to learn big time on the job.
