Ohio #89 on this list at 6100 per game. By comparison, the 2012-2013 season saw 6,900+ avg. I think that has a lot to do with the lack of December weekend home games. Note the P5 schools with similar or lesser numbers, including Ga Tech that we're reportedly playing this year.

Before somewhat else points it out, yes, Ohio's numbers are exaggerated by counting season ticket holders who do not show up, but other schools do the same thing.

Even with numbers slightly down, Ohio had an impressive attendance showing again. Not far off the average attendance of the Pac 12. Without knowing the schedule yet this year, I'd expect attendance to be up next year in anticipation that the team will be even better.

Another factor in lowering average attendance numbers is that the post season tournament home games are included. That drops the average.

1300 more than the average for all schools. We truly have a benefit in being a rural residential campus. Expectations are high for this year so it should be easier to sell season tickets unless the fee increases are viewed as too great.

I'd like to see the total ticket revenue by school. We still pretty much give our tickets away compared to some places.

I see our friends at Marshall are not far behind.

That's a good point. I've always wondered about the threshold in Athens relating ticket prices to attendance. I know of one person who has decided the Bobcat Club donation required of his seating area has become more than he's willing to spend. But we're talking premium seats, not students and cheap seats.

The same question might apply at the P5 schools who are near Ohio in attendance figures. Maybe they charge too much for their product, hurting their attendance?

When I read info on Ohio hoops attendance I always harken back to Charlie Coles saying best crowd atmosphere in the MAC.

And my memories of seeing lots of games as undergrad for free.

Makes a fella proud to be a Bobcat.

With the 28% jump this year for the lower level seats, you may see more of that this year.
