After being embarrassed defensively in the first two games, Kyrie completely turned his own series around and was lights out in Games 3-7. I argued he should have been the Finals MVP based on how well he played against the league's unanimous MVP of the regular season. His left hand layup while being fouled in the 4th quarter was a thing of beauty. As well as Kyrie played, I have to think that Steph Curry's knee is bothering him a lot more than he lead on. He didn't have the same spunk after the injury, which truth be told is rather incredible because he was still Golden State's 3rd or 4th best player with the injury. Still...gotta give the Cavs all the credit in the world. They played lights out defensively and LeBron led the way. I don't think I've ever seen that much emotion out of a team after a victory. This truly was a TEAM win. Not just a LeBron win. I few years ago I told some friends and family that no Cleveland franchise would ever win a championship. I also didn't think LeBron would ever come back to Cleveland. Things change. Major respect for how he handled it. He made zero excuses, shot down every question that hinted at injury. I have a lot of respect for that. Unbelievable game, start to finish. What a crazy series, and it all seemed to turn when Draymond decided to hit a dude in the nuts. So stupid. Lebron and Kyrie were amazing in games 5-7, and don't forget how big Kevin Love's rebounds were last night. Also overshadowed a little, Love played pretty darn good D on Curry late in the game when he got stuck on him on a switch. Can't begin to imagine the party that ensued in Cleveland! Way to go Cleveland!! I don't know if Curry is hurt, he seemed more rattled than anything else. He hasn't seen defense like the CAVS have played against him the last 2 games. Maybe he's hurt but no sympathy from me-Cleveland din't have Kyrie and Kevin Love last year and no one felt sorry for the CAVS. And agreed-it was good to see Curry and Green congratulate the CAVS players after the game; that was indeed good sportsmanship! I agree that while LeBron obviously was the MVP, the reason they were able to win was Kyrie. LeBron did what he does. Irving took his game to a level I've never seen before, at least not on a consistent basis. If Green had played Game 5, it might not have gone longer than that. His stupidity definitely helped open the door for the Cavs. Then the injury to Bogut is probably a lot bigger than people realize. It's easy to overlook how good he is because of all of the other stars the Warriors have. But as stated, that's basketball. Things can change quickly, and it's not always fair. Cleveland has more than it's share of things turn against it in the past. Not sure if it's the greatest play (one could argue that perhaps it wasn't even the most important play the CAVS made in the 4th quarter, i.e. Lebron's 3 made free throws he hit previously, Kyrie's 3 point shot made with a minute remaining) were just as important, but they don't stand out nearly as much as LeBron coming out of nowhere to swat that shot away. That play is perhaps the most ICONIC or emblematic play made by the CAVS. It was more hustle than anything spectacular athletically. I know they aren't winning in the ways that they did 20 years ago, but they still manage to put a respectable team on the field more years than not.
