AMEN TO THAT! GO CAVS!

And big time props to the Raptors team and their fans! True sportsmanship was on display at the end of the game last night and it was refreshing to see.

Mark--You know how memory is..and mine is that the Cavs were exhausted after going up 2-1 on Oakland in the Finals last year and lost the last three rather decidedly. But I think the truth is that Oakland won by a reasonably comfortable amount at the end of each game but they weren't walkovers for them.

This year Frye, Richardson, Love (OIIIEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!) and Irving--we can be beaten but it will take a very good team to do it.

I watched the 2nd game against Toronto in a bar with my brother and a lifelong CLE friend/fan. We couldn't hear the broadcast because of the bar noise and we were somewhat distant from the TV but my impression is that the Cavs effort was only moderate as they won. Which moderate effort got us two losses in Toronto...which was probably both the result of winning 10 playoff games in a row and thinking that we could walk over anyone and good in that it reminded us that every game requires the kind of effort we showed in games 5 (terrific) and 6.

Cavs have figured it out and are playing some pretty good ball.

Of course matchups make games, so we'll see what happens.

True and play-off experience is another factor. Remember, Love and Irving were injured for most of last year's play-off run so their play-off experience is limited. Irving was quoted a couple of days ago after Game 5 against Toronto that he had never really experienced what he experienced in Games 3 and 4 on the road in Toronto. I consider both Love and Irving having passed their test with their strong performances in Game 6!

During the playoffs last year...and I'm 99% sure this was the Finals...Love was on the bench and he was ENGROSSED. It was obvious how much he wanted to be on the very top, pinnacle stage. I knew that he'd come back to the Cavs for the current season for a chance to play in the Finals.

LeBron still a pretty good basketball player.

Key to last night was RJ's immense defense and hustle/rebounding. First minutes 3ball was huge, too.

Can't understand why not more Mozgov: rim protects and sets legit, huge screens, last night freeing up Kyrie for at least 2-3 shots.

Call me cynical and not sold on the Cavs yet, but the Warriors have lost every Game 3 of the Playoffs so far this year and lost two of four last year. It's what they do. Plus the Cavs had all of the emotion and "gotta win now" attitude behind them. You could tell the crowd was desperate for a win.

If the Cavs win Game 4, which should be a good one, I might start believing. They still have a lot of glaring holes that need to be plugged to beat the Warriors. They are no where near as athletic as the Thunder and don't have the guards to keep up with everything Golden State is going to throw at them.

And the bench is still a huge question mark. Even in the blowout last night, the bench didn't score until the 4th quarter. You can get away with that when JR, LeBron and Kyrie combine for 82 points. That's not going to happen every night.

But yeah, that LeBron fellow is OK I guess.

Totally agree; the 3rd game as the first game at home when down 0-2 is the easiest game to win.

But I think that the Cavs are getting the hang of it..especially defensively.

Key to the offense is MOVEMENT, ball and man. Would like to see us run Smith and Kyrie thru screens as GS does, as Clippers do for Redick.

True about little bench contrib in terms of points. But that's been true most of the season....

That movement you mentioned is why the Warriors are so fun to watch. Once Steph and Klay start hitting, the movement is something to behold because it opens up a realm of options.

The Cavs are getting the hang of it defensively...but so did the Thunder for seven games they still lost. That's a little piece of a large puzzle in beating this team.

Cavs must also run/fast break. Don't have to necessarily go right to the rim or shoot...but should lead directly to a few of those/easy hoops and get the oppo's defense in scramble mode such that guys are open for shots in half court sets. This is also something that GS uses so well in their offense.

With the way LeBron and Kyrie get to the hoop, gotta use this threat..to create immediate offense on the break or in the set offense.

Lue blew game 4. Trying to compete with them at small ball--really?

And, yet, we were reasonably close.

How to beat them. POUND THEM ON THE BOARDS. Gets us 2nd chance points on put backs or 2nd chances to run our O on a trip down the floor, re-setting with a signif chance of them not in ideal defensive position. When their D is set and it's a small ball game and we go isolation ball with 3-4 guys standing around, we are so easy to guard and unmotivated to hustle/rebound; we cannot win that game..just can't.

Them having to try to stop us on the boards will exhaust them an make them less able to run and to get to their set offense...which set offense murders us when it's smalls vs. smalls.

At all times we need 2 to 4 of the following on the floor: LeBron, Thompson, Love, Mozgov. This will also give us better D in the last 3-4 feet to the rim, a KEY area that they attack with passes and drives when anyone tries to shut down their longball game. Our D at the rim was key to winning game 3.

I'm much more confident down 1-3 than I was down 0-2.

If we don't go big, we have no chance at all. That's clear. So, why not try the strategy that's worked?

I know that it's still a long shot. But if we win on Monday, I like our chances.

And all these years I thought Monroe was just an expert when it came to college football. Poor Frank's going to have to learn to share Monroe's most gracious suggestions with Lue.

More..well, you know what I think of you (as does everyone who knows you), attacking me rather than responding in any way to my quite specific analysis.

Of course, who'd have expected anything else.

When you post, everyone's future is dimmed.

Thank you.

Can't expect LeBron and Kyrie to go something like 33 for 54 between them again.

Green, as much of a putz as he is, is a terrific defender such that it won't be nearly as easy for us in game 6.

What game 5 was about was making them play our game, making them defend the torrid Lebron/Kyrie combo.

That's what pounding them on the boards--Mozgov is about: making them play our way such that they're not so on balance on offense.

Can't imagine that Bogut will be fit to play over the next week--another reason to pound them on the boards inside, another reason they'll be less able to stop that thrust.

Make them play our game.

Heard a stat yesterday that LeBron is something like 86 - 33 in play-off games when at least one other player on his team scores 20 or more. That's crazy.

Love him or not love him, anyone who doesn't think that LeBron is the best basketball player in the world, and by a pretty wide margin, is not very wise.
