I hope this doesn't end up applying to John Groce.

I sure hope not. I'd think they need to go to the tournament to keep him safe. The thing is, their program is already better because he's there. It would be a shame to see him not be able to see the results of all the efforts they've put in.

Life in the big leagues. Effort only goes so far. Groce will land on his feet somewhere in a couple years if he gets canned at Illinois.

Increasing cost of the arms race. As long as the top tier programs fans pay the big bucks, as long as the top tier programs get the advertising/media $ support it will not end. Those that went for the "greener grass" did get a LOT of GREEN. I'm not sobbing for them - that's why they moved - and they got PAID - A LOT.

How many more chances can Paul get? He's done. Groce on the hot seat for sure...not looking good for 2015-2016.

If the he did what the report says he did, he shouldn't get anymore chances given when it happened on a team trip. Heck, if I were JG, I wouldn't spend my own money to send him back on a plane to the US immediately.
