According to a PD article on the Horizon's revamp, it does. http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/index.ssf/2015/05...

Completely disagree. So because there are 4 games played at campus sites, none of which involve the top 4 seeds...and because the women's tournament is at the same place around the same time...we are viewed a small-time mid-major? I think what would perpetuate that more than anything is having games with virtually no attendance as those 1st round games would be.

Have talked about this before but the problem with the Tournament is the extended byes coupled with an uneven 18 game regular season. I think we should mirror the PAC 12 who also have 12 teams and an 18 game regular season and go with a 12 team, 4 round play off where the top 4 teams get a single bye to the quarterfinals. The tournament would be wed-sat.

I doubt most would ever bring this up when talking about why the MAC is a mid-major.

The MAC is a mid-major due to a long history of low funding of athletics and the dominant status of the Big 10 in the region.

Can somebody hit a pull up jumper for me?.....

I think creating a scenario that has the best eight teams in Cleveland playing Thurs/Fri/Sat is best for the league and the fans. I'm not opposed to the double bye for seeds 1-2, but at that point, I've never felt seeds 3-4 deserve better treatment than 5-10.

There are ways to make it better than it is now, and still reward the top two teams in the league for having the best regular season.

The Horizon stacked the deck for the regular season winner and top teams. Rightly so, as they are a one bid league like the MAC. Why take the chance that an 8th seeded team wins the bid, then gets a 16 seed and loses to a number 1 seed by 50? Dress it up any way you like. The Horizon and the MAC are mid-major.
