Some of these names.....wow. Nimrod??

Good luck to Mo. Hopefully the pg's on this team get him the ball, unlike some of the times I watched us this year.

I know that it has been commonplace for centuries to name children using Biblical names but I think I would have gone for James or even Meshach over Nimrod.

Pretty cool that N'dour's team has Byron Russell as its assistant coach.

It's Bryon, though calling him Byron is a common mistake.

It was the second half before I tuned in, but I don't think Ndour had a very good offensive game at all, but he was playing defense and blocked a few shots. Ndour's team lost 78-72. Holmes was very good. Brown didn't seem to do much.

Ndour was 2-for-10, including 0-for-4 on 3-pointers, for four points with five rebounds, four blocks, one assist and two turnovers in 22 minutes.

Holmes had a game-high 22 points with seven rebounds and six blocks in 26 minutes. Brown had 12 points and three assists in 25 minutes.

Ndour's team plays again at 3:15 p.m. tomorrow and then either 12 or 2 p.m. Saturday.

NDour sparked a lot of comments from the broadcasters, especially in the first half. They noted he was usually a much better shooter but were impressed with his defense, length and athleticism. It seemed like he and Holmes from BG (on the other team) were getting a lot of air time. Juice Brown was on the other team with Holmes but didn't stand out as much.

Wow. I did not realize Ndour shot 43% from 3 for us this year...

That is pretty good. If he can make some 3's while demonstrating his length and athleticism on defense he could build some hype.

I've seen crazier things happen.

Yeah, but he's tall so he's got no business shooting threes. ;)

BG's Holmes look really good, looked like the best player on the floor in that game. I was very impressed with him in the few times I saw him play this year. He was certainly one of the MAC's best players and looks to be continuing that here.

NDour's team went 0-3 and got blown out in the final two. NDour started the final two games but only played 12 minutes in the final game, I didn't get a chance to watch so I don't know if his playing time was cut because of an injury or not.

He struggled on offense, scoring just 4pts in each game, shooting 30% (6-20) overall and 0-4 from three. In 62 minutes of playing time he did not shoot any free throws.

Defensively Mo made a name for him by blocking 10 shots and altering many more. There were times where he dominated under the rim. Rebounds were down with only 10 total but overall he was impressive defensively. I think he did enough on defense to get NBA scouts to at least take a look and kick the tires.

Ha

you beat me too it. I heard a Bobcat fan this weekend complaining about our bigs being too perimeter oriented. I had to laugh....it's not like they are not doing work inside and floating out ...opening up the floor as they go. There is no reasoning with folks who are obsessed with bigs on the perimeter...yet Wisky posts guards on the block to invert the offense as Bo loves them taking their man inside....

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

I watched part of two games and he had great timing on defense but he did get pushed around a little under the boards. He's going to have to put on some muscle.

D is one thing but if you can't score even at 6' 9" you'll have a tough road to the next level i.e. NBA. My bet is he goes overseas. Plays 6-8 years and make a boat load of money i.e. $200-300K per.

He didn't score but I think it was just having a bad weekend shooting. He missed a lot of shots that he normally makes (most wide open looks). I'm guessing he goes overseas as well because my takeaway from watching him in Portsmouth was that he just doesn't have the bulk to stop a determined NBA PF or C from getting to the basket.

It's been fun watching Mo play at Ohio. But, to play in the NBA his game and body would have to change dramatically. I, too, see a great future overseas for him. Heck he is fluent in many languages and would probably pick up one or two more if he needs to!

Best of luck to the young man!

No disrespect to Mo, and maybe it's an unfair comparison because they are completely different types of players, but if DJ Cooper can't get a whiff of the NBA, I don't see how Mo does.

Cooper was the best player in the conference, and literally no player in the history of college basketball matches up with him statistically. N'Dour was a good--a REALLY good--player in the conference, but not dominant like Coop.

Like others have said, I think Mo has a great future ahead of him in international leagues. But to get to the NBA, he REALLY needed to stand out this past season, and unfortunately that didn't happen.

It's not an unfair comparison, you're just comparing the wrong things.

It's about size. Both height, wingspan and the ability to dribble, pass, and shoot well given that size.

Exactly. Remember Ira Newble. He was a decent MAC player, but far from dominant and hardly even noticeable, then ended up having a long NBA career.
