Despite everything bad that's happened in this season, I won't miss Senior Day. Particularly to applaud Stevie Taylor in his last game in Athens.

Ouch .... I love ST.

Still on the fence. Trying to decide whether to suck it up get in the truck. Leave some extra time to ice and take breaks and show up or just blow it off and rehab till next year.

WOuld enjoy the trip and seeing folks. Not sure if I am up for it yet but not being there for senior night would really suck.

The only thing worse than missing senior night would be losing to Miami for the second time this season and at home. Now that really sucks!

Winning this game on Friday would be somewhat cathartic. The first half of the game in Oxford was the last time I felt like I saw any energy from this year's team. Show us that you have not packed it in Bobcats!

With a win, Miami could move up as high as #6 and become Ohio's first-round tournament opponent. The RedHawks are 1 game behind Akron (at Kent) and WMU (vs. CMU) and would have the tiebreaker (Miami 2-1 head-to-head, Akron 2-2, WMU 1-2) in the event of a three-way tie.

So, you're saying Ohio should tank this game, setting up a rematch with Miami in the MAC tourney first round?

Actually, two high school girls basketball teams (can't recall where) lost games on purpose to avoid a certain matchup with a loaded team. Both teams were suspended by the state athletic association.

TN. They were both excluded from the tourney

Get past the disney ads and see a pretty good espn report http://espn.go.com/espnw/news-commentary/article/12381643...

The more I think about this game the more disgusted I am. Why would the MAC decide to have OUr team play their arch rival on the Friday night beforeSpring break? Play this game on a Saturday in Jan or Feb and there is a great crowd even if we are bad. Hell it is Miami. I can't believe the Athletic Dept and Admin didn't complain about this early on and get it changed. Even worse I can't believe it was scheduled like this in the fist place. Another reason to hate this Conference. They are clueless!

- The conference has all the regular season finales on a Friday to give an extra day of rest for the tournament.

- If this game was consequential, it would be on national TV.

- I feel like I need to put this is my signature: The administration wants the marquee opponents during the week because it boosts attendance.

It's not before Spring Break...it's during Spring Break. Classes start up on Monday.

The scheduling is crazy. OU-Miami is one of the best (maybe THE best) rivalries in the conference, and the football game is generally relegated to Thanksgiving while basketball plays on Spring Break. Meanwhile, we get EMU on a Saturday. Unbelievable...

With JGuy at the helm as the voice and media stream of the conference using the MAC twitter for everything from hyping the Patriots to dinner with friends and not much MACwide presence ....you bet they are clueless. he should have a personal account and a MAC account.

Why not schedule Miami using it as a showcase for a long standing grudge match? There are so many marketing opportunities being squandered. Lots of places where we need to legitimize the conference. Lots of good things happening but getting lost in the crap that seem to float around in this pool

He does have a personal one.. Or at least did last time I checked. That's why I always wondered why his MAC account was full of Browns, etc stuff.

JSF I get the impression you are ok with the schedule cause they think they have to play them Fri nite so teams can get ready for next week or something? What about a start time of Sat for these games at 1pm? It' s only 18 hours different, all the teams are in the same boat with time, and there is little scouting to do at this time of year for a conference opponent. Borna is right this should be a showcase game on any Sat during the season. Seriously there will not be any slums at this game and very few students.

I am OK with it because TV > butts in seats. If Ohio had been good, it would be on TV. And those 18 hours make a difference. Miami can play the game and get back to Oxford that same night instead of Saturday evening. A team like Ohio has 18 additional hours to hit the road to wherever they go and settle in. It makes sense, even if it's not to the preference of everyone. If the teams had a problem with it, they'd speak up and it would change.

Actually, 17 hours - what with daylight saving time this weekend.

Regardless, another MAC front office blunder.

"Doing something we don't like" is not a blunder. You can disagree with it, but there's logic behind it. Again, they've been doing it for years and there's been no displeasure voiced by the coaches.

Hey, it's this league. I know it is my opinion, but that logic is stupid on so many levels. They do not care about the students who don't get to see games or the alumni/fans that won't travel to a Friday game when it could be attended if it was a Saturday. It's the same way in football. Unfortunately, TV rules now. They might as well just play without crowds the way things are going. We'll all just sit in the living room and watch the games with empty seats everywhere. As for the Coaches and Administrators not complaining it probably says a lot about them too.

I bet if anyone surveyed season ticket holders and single game ticket purchasers they would get an earful on this kind of scheduling. But then, when is the last time anybody surveyed the "customers" about game day experiences and scheduling in the two revenue generating MAC sports?

They are playing Friday because the logistics of playing an unknown opponent at an unknown site on Tuesday dictate it.

Blame the double bye.

You're right, they don't care about the fans. And they can get away with it because there's not enough fans to stand up and say something. And about the playing in front of empty seats thing, perhaps you should read more Will Leitch.

I can attest from conversations with the Ohio AD and admin that they're not crazy about playing at these times. But it's a MAC decision that we get little to no say in. From a conversation in the Rohr Room several weeks ago, I know they were hoping for just one midweek home football game this year. But clearly that didn't happen.

The one problem with the "TV rules now" argument: You need to have an actual TV deal.

It also goes back to the argument of...is ESPN3 tv?? Is is worth selling our soul to ESPN just to be on ESPN3 95% of the time?
