Two thoughts I have on this:

1) I think having the image of the State of Ohio on the Court, and more prevalent in everything branded OHIO, is essential. That said, I'm not a fan of the dark green floor. I just think it would look better if it were done in a slightly lighter or darker shade of stain on the floor under the current center court logo. That way it shows up, but the floor still looks like a regular basketball floor, not one of these circus floors like NIU, or Oregon.

2) I'd really like to see the old "The Convo" logo's back on the floor somewhere.

We shouldn't even worry about these until the engineering study is complete on whether the structure can handle the weight of all that paint.

Not until the soft pretzel study is done...

As for the designs, I thought it would be interesting to see the bricks worked into the court some how. Not sure how one large Athens Block Brick for the lane woudl look.

How about a slightly darker stain where the mortar would be between the bricks so it looks like the whole court is a brick street?

Two on this list appeal to me: third one down and second from the bottom. Putting the flag in the paint makes it too messy. Keep it clean by putting it on the baseline.

I'm actually not too keen on the state outline at midcourt. OSU already does that. I feel like the general masses would say "oh they are copying OSU" even though the Convo had it many years prior.

The Ohio flag would have looked very cool with the old international lane which was wider at the bottom.

I agree, and I wouldn't care if someone from central Ohio said it was "copying". Ohio University should be using the shape of the State of Ohio more frequently in branding in all situations, be it in academic program materials, or on the floor of The Convo.

They'd say it even if we kept it. I'm against two-tone courts. Just bring back the state (and The Convo logo) and we're good.

Of all I like the second from the bottom best. Cleanest design and least distracting if watching on TV. I have a tough time looking at radical or dark court designs like Oregon or NIU, so would prefer to keep it simple. Are we getting a new court next year or something??

Don't like the state outline, its lack of symmetry grates my OCD, don't like the dominant green coloring, am intrigued by the Cutler image. I'd like to see some Jamerson-era paw prints or an "est.1804" like Fiami.

I like the first one but instead of the Attack Cat, a big green paw. I love the paw. BRING BACK THE PAW!!

Ohio is somewhat symmetric with straight lines up the east and west borders....Indiana, Illinois and Texas are floors with state outlines that must drive you batty.

I too am partial to the Paw! But seeing as how we literally are Ohio, the outline of the state needs to be on the court somewhere.

Now, about that video board.......

Interesting. I like #6. Easy on the eyes but contemporary with some historical accents.

I like 6 - but with the green state of Ohio flags on the baseline

the Texas one especially is batty and its for the same reason, the Longhorn logo is symmetrical, the state is not. I love the symmetry of the letters OHIO, makes for a great looking logo, don't mess it up with some squiggly background shape.

I also don't like the state outline because its redundant. It already says the name of the state in giant letters, the outline isn't going to add any clarity. Oh, you meant THAT Ohio.. no need.

Even if these never happen, this is exactly the kind of thing I want to waste time looking at.

Is the old Convo logo the outline of the building (kinda?)

I've seen crazier things happen.

I'm not a fan of two-tone courts at all. Oh well. I'm sure someone already has their mind made up on this or these wouldn't even exist.

If you go to their twitter page, this design firm did a court for everyone in the MAC.

So this firm was actually hired to do a re-design for NIU after one year? ;)
