Bonnies play Buffalo Wednesday. Maybe Coach Furley will give us a full scouting report.

Bout time we got them back in our house. That last trip to OLEAN was horrible. multiple OTs and Nich going off for over 40 . ONly redemming thing was seeing John Rhodes name on the basketball in the trophy case next to those famous size 21 shoes.

I did an up and back from Columbus that day - just a handful of Bobcats there to see a 4 OT game. Didn't Nicholson help foul out three or four of our guys? D.J. Cooper scored >40 points, too, as I recall. That old gym reeked of history and it was cool seeing the trophy cases.

Just looked up the box score. Nicholson had 44 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. He was 16-25 at the FT line and 14-19 from the field. Four Bobcats fouled out - DeVaughn Washington, Ivo Baltic, Reggie Keely and T.J. Hall. Tommy Freeman had 4 fouls. D.J. Cooper had 43 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists. He was 17-41 from the field.

thanks Joe.

time to beat their butts at home. Not many remember that night, with Tony instead of Russ on the call, but we owe them a pretty good beat down. That was as long and tedious a game as I can remember

We beat them at home two years ago, yes? Coop hit a big go-ahead pull-up 3 late.

I remember listening to that game on the radio. That was indeed one long game!

I attended an Ohio/St Bonnie game in Olean a few years ago. At half time the Friars went out on the floor with a microphone praying for good exam grades for their students and for victory over the Bobcats. I called that an "unfair" advantage and immediately said a prayer for Bobcat victory to counteract their prayers to defeat us. However, I didn't pray for the students to flunk their tests, I decided to leave that one alone :)

This should be Saul's first quality win.

I like playing the Bonnies. Wish we could play the A-10 more.

There is a pretty big divide on this board about just how good this Ohio team will end up being this year. We have looked embarrassingly sloppy at times. Yet at other times, there have been some flashes of something more. We cannot come out and play like the sloppy team we have looked like if we want to win this game. At the same time, if we do come to play this is a game we should be able to win and it would be a solid win. Thanksgiving is over. Hopefully a good crowd ignites the team.

I'll be watching closely as Ndour battles a fellow Senegalese big down low. I will also be closely monitoring Bean's point totals to see if he can crack thet 20 ppg average. Hopefully Stevie has a good game distributing and Bean is able to get hot from behind the triple line.
In some respects, Bean reminds me of Armon. They both came in as PG's but really thrived when someone else had the rock and they were clear to look for shots. Neither were very tall, but both had enough quicks and handles to find their own shots, draw fouls and ultimately SCORE. It'll be a lot easier to win games this year if Bean is shooting north of 40% on his 3's during the course of any game.

Armon's basketball IQ was through the roof compared to Bean's. Off the court, the other way around.

From the Bonnie board:

"How can St. Bonaventure (of the mighty A-10) be underdog to a lowly MAC team? Doesn't Vegas know that by merely being a member of the power-conference A-10 makes us the favorite? Look at the KenPom rating, our luck rating of -.044 is clearly better than Ohio's luck rating of -.085. By that measure alone, Ohio is almost twice as unlucky as SBU, which no doubt is partly due to the fact that they are a MAC team (hence, their bad luck).

What I don't get is how SBU can have a negative luck rating despite being a FOUNDING member of the prestigious A-10. Does KenPom not know that SBU was a powerhouse in the 50's, 60's and 70's? That is more than reason enough for a minimum luck rating of +5.768.

Further analysis shows that half-sized wieners to pepsi ratio tilts heavily in favor of SBU. Finally, SBU leads the nation in timeouts taken with the X:X2 seconds on the clock. Everyone knows that when you take a timeout with any time variant of 2 seconds, its exceptional clock management.

I look for the Bonnies to win in a rout."

I like this guy.

BTW, I'll probably be in a car during the second half. Anyone remember the number I can call to listen to the radio broadcast? I'd use the TuneIn app if I didn't have to worry about data.

The number that I have from last year is (712)432-7090 for Ohio gamecast. I am not sure if it remains the same-worth a try.

I called the number during football season. It still answers as Ohio IMG but it never connected to the game.

I'm not sure that they offered the dial in number for football. I will check with Russ tomorrow.

The major stats that stand out for the Bonnie's are a strong defensive FG%, strong rebounding, and getting to the line a lot more than their opponents. Jaylen Adams is 14 of 30 on three point shots.

This comes against a not too tough schedule, however.

A big key for the Bobcats will be keeping them off the offensive boards.

This is tough to watch. I'm not an expert in basketball by any stretch of the imagination...but does it seem like we are forcing an unusually high amount of bad shots on offense? Also, why so many fouls on three point shooters? We look bad at both ends today.

We still have a lot of work to do with this team.

I still think we can compete in the conference this year.

Really frustrating game to watch. 3 fouls on long jump shots. PG play was not good. Mo taking a lot of long contested jump shots and not connecting (did get fouled a lot and convert from the line though).

Tony Campbell played really well and I thought Ryan Taylor was solid. Khari Harley appears to be gaining confidence. Laster, Setty, & Mompremier were mostly non-factors.

We have the inside game to be a decent team but if our guard play doesn't improve on BOTH ends of the court we are in for a long season. I'm SO tired of another team's guard having a career high against us.

Chandler Thomas with zero minutes.
