This is something I agree with.  Convo seats are the most comfy arena/stadium seats I've sat in.  I'll be interested in buying a couple if they should sell 'em in the future.

Agree. But...there's a reason you don't see many new stadiums/arenas with cushioned seats. They just don't stand the test of time very well. I'd rather have seats that are going to last 30 years than ones that will get holes in them after 2 years.

The Convo seats have been in place since it opened.  Pretty good wear ratio with only a small percentage overall with damage.  And, a lot of those seats sustained the damage during the h/s tournaments where the kids are ......ah....."exuberant".
Given the comfort and the durability, I'd like the fabric bottoms to return.

One would think they could pull em, paint em, replace fabric across the board and replace the pans that need hardware and hinges much cheaper than going with replacements... Looking at the seats up close the other day I was trying to work out the logistics in my head. Those are well made, sturdy pieces of equipment. Sandblasting, maybe creating Logos to attach to the ends and recovering seats with a sturdy fabric seems to be the smart play. Seems like the automotive industry has addressed the wear concerns with fabrics since the 71 LeMans, Camaro, Impala and Mustang rolled down the line with the then state of the art in seat covers.

Has anyone been in a new/newer arena that has fabric bottoms on seats? Just wondering if that's completely a thing of the past.

Pretty sure that at least the "good seats" inside the Schott are cushion fabric on the bottom.

In MANY cases, that's not the original fabric.  They have been spending thousands on cushion repair since 1968. New seats will be all plastic from what I have been told.

In an effort to strengthen the cores of all Bobcats,  every seat will be replaced with an exercise ball.

A picture of Kanye and the words "Let's keep it bouncing" will be displayed on the scoreboard to rally the crowd into a Tigger-hopping tizzy.
