This whole "data loss" thing is in actuality a move to come into compliance with a new federal mandate to "equalize number of posts on message boards."  The purpose of the new federal regs is to protect people's self-esteem from having certain people accumulate a higher post total than others.  As time moves on, and participants' post totals begin to accumulate, we may have to consider redistribution of post totals from those with higher totals to those with lower totals.  Danger, Will Robinson!
