Don't the players receive some awards about now for their lifting?  Are these announced or are they kept in-house?

Wow, what is up with Prior? Wasn't this young man a scholarship athlete to Florida State out of High School?

Does anybody have last year's results? Would like to see a comparison of the two.

That doesn't include the Seniors that left last year.

I think previous just means the rank before the last update, not last year. I'm pretty sure Eric Herman was pretty dominant in these when he was around.

A lot of guys were hurt and did not compete in various competitions. Prior is one of them. You can tell when there are repeated numbers at the end. Those guys tied for last by not competing. The last five guys down had very limited participation. Some of the others higher up seem to have missed some events also but not so many hat they ranked all the way at the bottom in overall score. Also, keep in mind, some of the guys who do take part might not be at full strength.

That G.P.A. ranking is more concerning to me.

There's not enough information to be concerned. This doesn't tell you what his GPA is. Only that he's in last place.

Right. I'm pretty sure there are some very smart guys on the O-line, so it's tough competition. Also, I'm not sure how they rank those. Prior was in the middle of last summer's ranking. It could just be based on the most recent quarter/semester or something entirely different.

I'd agree that there isn't enough information here for us, as fans, to draw any conclusions. I just think it's great they are competing, and pushing each other to get better.

Good stuff!!!

Great to see OUr 3 centers doin so well.....albeit Bubba Williams at 6'1"-195 is a long snapper.

Powell and Lucas wil battle for some pt and I would guess one of the other OL scholly guys would be moved to center for some depth and competition.

Fair points all around. It is something to watch, but you're right, we don't know that it means much of anything.

Well to me it means the guys who didn't play last year are working their arse off.

Will that mean positive production from OL guys who will play for the first time?

Stay tuned.

This is fun to look at, but doesn't tell us all that much.  Some of our better linemen aren't that high and the top guys are all under classmen.

I think the winter one is usually less telling because there usually are a lot of guys recovering from injuries and surgeries and no freshman, so competition is really almost down to 10 or less guys, many of them walk-ons. They do it each quarter I believe. I think it's a good way to motivate guys. Things are always more fun when there is competition involved. You can follow it on Facebook (Ohio University Offensive Line Challenge):

Smith 286 lbs beats Williams 195 lbs in the 40 yd dash.  Is this based on raw score or some adjusted scale?

Check the squat.  It is telling that 1-3 in the squat finished 1-3 overall.

Interesting. If one assumes that *8" in the squat means "did not participate", and you pull those out, then 1-7 are in order.

Thanks for the update!

I also noticed this was posted:

Some guys are lifting some major weights.

I'd also point out again that guys clearly are at varying levels of health and even if they participate in acitvities, that doesn't mean they are 100 percent for that activity. But even so, some really impressive numbers.
