I agree with everything Bo Pelini suggests.

(Oh, and here's another coach who says kids should be released when coaching changes occur.)

Bo Pelini, in everything he has been through at Nebraska, shows every sign of being a guy who "gets it" and doesn't mind telling people about it.  THe NCAA and, particularly, the B1G need more of this kind.  Go, Bo!

Makes sense.  He addresses "prospects" who have signed, how about the existing, enrolled athletes?

The occasional voice of reason amidst the flurry of money-fueled diarrhea coming from everyone else's mouth is nice, I must admit.

Love him or hate him, he's a blue collar guy that says what he thinks.

I understand what he's saying, but I don't understand what it would help. The kid still has to decide and that could take a while. And you will still need a deadline for them to make that decision. Unless I'm reading this wrong.

Since it won't happen, it doesn't seem worth arguing for/against, but I actually think it would make the system far more abusive, not less. "Here's my offer. Take all the time you need to decide, but the offer is only good for the next hour. If you don't sign by then, it will be withdrawn. I have a lot of other kids that are ready to sign if you aren't."

Good point there.  Nothing's perfect, eh?
