Look at these standings with 2 weeks left, 7 teams in contention.
Anything can happen.
I believe with the current schedule; the outcome is in doubt as to who goes to the MACC game.
You can look through the games remaining and come up with multiple senarios on who needs what outcome of the games to make it to the MACC.
At the end of the day Ohio need to win out to have a chance to get to the MACC game. We need to take care of our business, what we can control.
I think it's good that we play next week at home against a winless team.
After next week things will become clearer but not let settled.
This year's MACC probably won't be determined till the last game is played.

Miami having a tie breaker over Toledo and Ohio even though they lost to both is beyond stupid.

Is this really true? If so, the MAC has taken "fuzzy math" to a whole new level.

Not according to the official MAC tie-breaker policy when you have 3 or more teams tied.

Scenario – More than Two Teams

1. Combined head-to-head win percentage among the tied teams if all
tied teams are common opponents.

2. If all the tied teams are not common opponents, the tied team that
defeated each of the other tied teams advances.

3. Win percentage versus all common opponents.

4. Win percentage versus common opponents based upon their order
of finish (overall conference win percentage, with ties broken) and
proceeding through other common opponents based upon their
order of finish.

5. Combined conference win percentage of conference opponents.

https://getsomemaction.com/documents/2024/9/18//2024_MAC_...

#1 Toledo/Miami/Ohio finish tied at 6-2.
1. Tied teams not opponents so doesn't apply.
2. Toledo and Ohio both beat Miami so they advance.
3. Win percentage against common opponents Toledo & Ohio have the same.
4. Win percentage based on order of finish Ball State > Bowling Green
5. Toledo has a better win percentage because didn't play UMass.

#2 CMU/Miami/Ohio finish tied at 6-2.
1. Tied teams not opponents so doesn't apply.
2. Ohio beat Miami so they advance.

#3 Ball St/Ohio finish tied at 6-2.
1. Ball State beat Ohio so they advance.

If BG and Ball State both finish 3-5 in MAC play then Toledo would edge Ohio out beause of better MAC strength of schedule.

That Ohio loss to Ball State could really hurt them in the end.

Kent State is truly on life support.

Toledo could lose out on a three way tie with Miami and Ohio to Miami, despite the RedHawks being… https://t.co/bb3bwSQmH6 https://t.co/6ZVRKe82QF&mdash ; The MAC Sports Connection (@TheMSCPodcast) https://twitter.com/TheMSCPodcast/status/1989072489184399...

This write up misses #2 in a three way tie that says if the opponents are not connected the team with the win over any tied opponent is out. This eliminates Miami in the three way tie with Toledo scenario.

First of all, I understand the reasoning for doing away with East and West divisions in football. However, at least with divisions, every team plays every other team in its division, providing a true divisional champ.

Without divisions and a 13-team MAC where every member plays 8 conference games, you have the real possibility of teams facing different degrees of difficulty of schedules. Thus, a valid argument for divisions, no? Of course this problem is even worse in 18-team conferences.

I don't think the guy got it right anyway.

If you beat a team, you have the tiebreaker over that team. It doesn't matter what other metrics are used to prop up the team you beat.
