Defense forces 6 turnovers in Spring Game
Green defeats White, 15-7

ATHENS – Defense dominated in the annual Green and White game, won by the Green team, 15-7, at Peden Stadium on Saturday.
The Bobcats produced six interceptions and seven sacks while the offense struggled. Redshirt freshman Devin Bass had two interceptions, while junior Nic Barber and sophomore Tony Davis each recorded a pair of sacks.
Ohio’s offense produced 399 yards on 70 plays, averaging a solid 5.7 yards per play, but junior quarterback Tyler Tettleton threw four picks and was just 7 of 17 passing, although his few completions did go for 136 yards.
Redshirt freshman Derrius Vick accounted for one touchdown with a 2-yard touchdown pass to junior walk-on tight Art Thomas. Vick was 12 of 21 for 85 yards but threw two interceptions. He added five carries for 21 yards.
Junior Ryan Boykin had the only other touchdown on the day, scoring from one yard out for the Green team’s only score on the day. Boykin finished with 29 yards on seven attempts.
Junior Beau Blankenship busted a 49-yard run and finished as the leading rusher with 76 yards on just five attempts. In all, the Bobcats ran 32 times for 178 yards, an average of 5.6 yards per attempt.
Sophomore Chase Cochran had a 58-yard grab to lead the receivers, while junior Mario Dovell made a 33-yard grab. Junior Donte Foster and sophomore Stephane N’goumou each made a game-best three grabs for 27 and 26 yards, respectively. Thirteen different players made receptions.
Senior kicker made three field goals, all for the White team, connecting from 29, 34 and 31 yards. He missed attempts of 41 and 33 yards.
Defensively, freshman linebacker Jovon Johnson and freshman defensive lineman Eric Price had one sack each, while freshman cornerback Brian Hairston, sophomore safety Josh Kristoff, freshman safety Tyler Lang and sophomore safety Thad Ingol had interceptions.
