Campbell powers Bobcats to win

Ohio struggles to pull away from UAPB


ATHENS – Antonio Campbell had career-high 26 points and 12 rebounds to help Ohio hold off Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 65-58, on Monday night at The Convo.

Treg Setty added 13 points and seven rebounds for Ohio, which was just 2 of 14 on 3-pointers and scored a season low.

Ghiavonni Robinson had 21 points for the Lions (2-11).

The Bobcats (8-3) jumped out to an 11-2 lead but never managed to really put away the Lions. Ohio led by 10 on two occasions in the first half but took just a 24-19 lead into the locker room.

Throughout the second half, the Bobcats led by no more than 11, but the Lions got no closer than five.

UAPB shot only 22.6 percent in the first half but made 60 percent of its shots in the second half, including 6 of 7 3-pointers and 9 of 11 free throws after attempting none in the first half.

Ohio shot 47.6 percent overall, but was just 2 of 14 on 3-pointers. The Bobcats had a big edge on free throws, going 23 of 26.

The Bobcats had more turnovers, 14-10, and more rebounds, 35-20.

Ohio hosts UC Riverside at 7 p.m. Dec. 30 at The Convo.
